The Southern Anthropological Society held its 48th annual meeting in the lovely mountains of Johnson City, Tennessee at the historic Carnegie Hotel and Spa. The theme of the meeting was “The Culture of Healing.”
The keynote speaker for the conference was Dr. Andrea Wiley, from Indiana University at Bloomington. Her talk was “Growing Children Around the World: Cow’s Milk Consumption and Ideals of Growth.”
The annual meeting was hosted by East Tennessee State University. The organizers were Dr. Lindsey King and Dr. Melissa Shrift.
